Tis the season! The bluebonnets are out. We thought there would be a lot more of them since we had such a wet winter and spring, but I guess we either missed the peak or there just wasn't as many this year. Oh well, you don't need a million, just a few hundred in a small area. We made the drive down to Ennis and found this little spot of bluebonnets on the side of the road. We got a lot of waves from the friendly locals that drove by. After all, taking pictures in the bluebonnets is a Texas tradition. We passed a couple of other families doing the exact same thing yesterday.
It was late, and we didn't get a whole lot of pictures, but enough. It has been three years since we have taken bluebonnet pictures, so I am glad we got any at all. Wesley was very cooperative in spite of his brothers letting him face-plant in the flowers during the shoot. We were on a slope and he was trying to sit up and despite our frantic pleas for the boys to pull him back, he flipped right over. After we picked him up and dusted him off, he was happy and ready for more pictures. What a sport.
