The Things They Say. . . .

Devin and Layne never cease to send us into gales of laughter with the things they say. Every time Layne hears a train he gets really excited and says, "train, train!" Then he makes train noises, "Whooooo, whoooo! Beep, beep!" We were driving home from a trip to Ft. Worth one day, and Layne heard a train. He started making his train sounds and Devin turned to him with a look of superiority on his face. "Layne, that doesn't sound like a train." Layne would just adamantly repeat his sounds and Devin would continue his objections.

Devin always wants Ben to honk the horn of the car. Sometimes, when no cars are nearby, Ben will humor them with a couple of honks. Layne gets excited and starts saying, "Train, train! Whoo, whooo! Beep, beep!" Devin will turn to him with his superior look and say, "That's a honk horn Layne." I suppose to the discerning boy, there is a big difference.

Devin loves to play Nintendo. A couple of weeks ago, we were able to beat Bowser and rescue the princess. One day, a friend of Devin's came to play. He wanted to play Mario 64, so Devin was explaining the rules to him. He said, "Josh, ya get lots of stars and then throw Bowser into the sharps!"

On Thanksgiving Day, the boys woke up and found Ben and I getting the turkey ready to put in the oven. When we pointed out the turkey in the pan, Layne immediately started to growl like he does when he sees a picture of a tiger or bear. I said, "Layne, turkeys don't growl, they say gobble, gobble." Devin piped up and added with a knowing tone, "And they wiggle too."

We would love to see you guys, but we aren't going to make the trip to Idaho this year. We have to replace our roof because of a bad hail storm we had, and we had some medical bills that were hanging over us. We are definitely going to come this summer though. We want to hit some family reunions and stuff. Thanks so much for being a faithful visitor to my blog!
